Second Arrest Made In Murder Of Fresno State Student

Devon Fisher Now In Custody At Fresno County Jail

Fresno Police say the second suspect in the nearly two year old murder of a Fresno State Engineering student is now in custody. 18-year old Devon Fisher has been wanted for days for allegedly taking part in the murder of 25-year old Barkete Shita.

His alleged accomplice in the crime,  20-year old Kenneth Lee, was taken into custody last week.  During a press conference Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said the department also wanted to speak to another person of interest who is under age, and was never identified.

Shita was shot and killed back in September of 2016 after having some sort of confrontation at a gas station on Blackstone.   He drove to a nearby Jiffy Lube but one, or both of the suspects allegedly opened fire on him.   Chief Dyer said Shita was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Both Lee and Fisher have extensive criminal histories.

Fisher is now facing charges of murder probation violations.
