The Fresno Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a gas station at the corner of Blackstone and Gettysburg at around 3pm Tuesday afternoon.

There were crews nearby, and they arrived within minutes. After the crew arrived they put out a car that was fully engulfed in flames that had spread to nearby pumps.

Crews turned off the emergency power supply to the pumps, cutting off the fuel supply. Then fully put out the fire before any more damage could take place.

What investigators do know is that the source of the fire was inside the vehicle and has nothing to do with the surrounding pumps. It’s not known what caused the car to burst into flames.

The owner of gas station estimates it will be at least 24 hours before the business is back up and running.
