Authorities say the bodies of 11 babies have been found at a Detroit, Michigan funeral home that closed six months ago.
Spokesmen say that inspectors found the bodies Friday at the Cantrell Funeral Home on the city’s east side.
The bodies were reportedly found in a hidden compartment in the ceiling.
Detroit Police say eight or nine bodies were found in a cardboard box, and the others were found in a nearby casket. Police have been searching the Funeral home to make sure there are no other bodies inside.
A regulatory agency suspended the funeral homes license in April after inspectors found decomposing embalmed bodies, along with other violations.
Violations also included two improperly stored bodies covered in what appeared to be mold, and a third body with an unknown fluid covering the facial area.
Authorities are now working to determine how the babies bodies wound up there.
