Elliott Balch quits Fresno mayor race; only Janz and Dyer remain

FRESNO, California – Elliott Balch has dropped out of the race to be Fresno’s next mayor.

The announcement was made on Facebook late Tuesday. In it, Balch described how he wanted to direct his time and energy into the health of his family rather than the campaign.

Balch’s move comes two weeks after Fresno City Councilmember Luis Chavez also quit the race to be Fresno’s next mayor.

Only two candidates remain in the running to replace Mayor Lee Brand: Jerry Dyer and Andrew Janz.
