Authorities want help identifying a man found dead last month in northeast Fresno, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man was discovered in the bushes near the off-ramp at Highway 41 and Herndon Avenue on May 24.

Fingerprints did not provide any leads.

He appears to match the description of a homeless man who was a regular visitor of the McDonald’s restaurants located at First Street and Nees Avenue, as well as Blackstone and Bullard avenues, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The restaurants provided surveillance photos of the man believed to be the man who died.

Once staff at the Coroner’s Office is able to positively identify the man, they can begin the process of tracking down his family members to allow for a proper burial, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Anyone with information about this man is asked to please contact the Coroner’s Unit at 559-600-3400, coroner@fresnosheriff.org, or email the Deputy Coroner handling this case at jeff.gentry@fresnosheriff.org.
