The weeklong search for missing Fresno woman Lucy Xiong came to an end Saturday after Fresno Police and Fire crews said they believe they’ve pulled her body from a central Fresno canal, Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said.

Dyer said the Police Department is almost completely certain that it is Xiong, but they will have official confirmation on Sunday. We have a “high degree of certainty” that it’s Xiong, Dyer said.

The crews found the body in a canal in the area of Elizabeth Street and Van Ness Avenue in the Tower District.

Police said Xiong’s credit cards were used after she was reported missing. They’re questioning the suspects accused of using the cards, and determining if they’re directly tied to her Xiong’s death.

Xiong, 20, went missing July 28.
