Attempted Robbers Drive Truck Over Guard Post, Into Barred Windows At Tower District Store

News

FRESNO, Calif. — Suspects crashing a truck into a Tower District liquor store is caught on camera.

It happened at 6:30 am on Thursday at the Food King Market. Police believe the suspects were trying to rob the store, but never got inside.

Police said the guard rails and security rails in the windows of the business stopped the truck from crashing and driving into the business. The posts are dented and damaged.

The surveillance caught the truck, a Chevy s10 pickup, drive over the guard posts, then crash into the front of the store.

The driver is seen getting out of the car, then another suspect walks into the view but police said they both realize they can’t break in.

“The security screens are bent, the posts are bent, it appears they might have wanted to attack that building to get to the ATM inside. We do not know since they couldn’t get into the building,” said Lt. Mark Hudson, Fresno Police.

Police said the suspects left the truck behind. They say it was stolen from a County Island off Shaw avenue.

The damage is estimated to be about $10,000.

Police are looking for those suspects. If you have any information, call police.
