Police are investigating a burglary in North East Fresno. The suspects attempt to take the doors down but when they fail, they are seen ramming a truck into the store and then take off with the ATM
The dramatic burglary caught on surveillance video left everyone shocked, even the owner of Yosemite Market. “I never thought that would happen that way, when we saw the video the whole door was down. I freaked out,” Neena Shergill said. Just after two Monday morning she got a call about a break in and couldn’t believe what she saw on surveillance video.
“It’s insane, I drove up this morning and saw that a car had driven into the store, its surprising,” Brian Hoffman said.
The two masked suspects are seen trying to pull the doors off by using chains. “But the chain came off, maybe broke so they took the truck, backed it into the doors to gain entry, ran into the store and took the ATM,” Lt. Joe Gomez said.
The ATM was thrown into the bed of a tan colored truck which police believe will be easy to recognize. “There was a plate attached but it’s not a car plate, the truck could be stolen. It should have damage to the bumper from backing into here,” Lt. Gomez.
Shergill said the suspects didn’t take anything else but they have lost their sense of security. “If it could happen when the door is locked, there’s always a chance that it can happen during the business hours too.”
The business owners hope anyone with information will contact police to help make an arrest. The number 498-STOP
