Arson Suspected in Fresno Cathedral Fire

Doors to St. John's Torched

FRESNO - Fresno fire investigators are now telling us that it was gasoline that was splashed on  the doors of St. John's Cathedral and set on fire this morning.

Someone riding by on a bicycle around four this morning saw the flames and called for help. Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly. Damage is limited to the doors. The concrete landing in front of the cathederal is blackened.

Investigators are going through surveillance video to find a suspect. They also spoke to people near the church about the time the fire started hoping for more information..
