Alejandro Leon, 26, of Orange Cove

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – An Orange Cove man was arrested Tuesday for the suspected murder of a Dinuba man, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office homicide unit arrested Alejandro Leon, 26, for the May 23 shooting death of Eduardo Fonseca, spokeswoman Ashley Schwarm said. Fonseca was found dead at a property on the 4600 block of Ave 392 in Dinuba.

Leon was identified as a suspect by detectives during a three-month investigation into Fonseca’s death, Schwarm said. He was taken into custody at his Orange Cove home after deputies executed a search warrant and later booked into the Tulare County Jail.

Alejandro was an acquaintance of Eduardo and the two had known each other for some time, Schwarm said. A motive for the shooting has not been released, as the case is still active.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joshua Lowry or Sgt. Steve Sanchez at 559-733-6218.
