Listen up car lovers, the 2018 Auto Show Charity Gala event is happening this week and all proceeds will benefit Valley Children’s.
Elizabeth Fox, works at Valley Children’s and her role is to help children and their families cope with the hospitalization.
“We help mitigate trauma, we teach them about what is going on in with their bodies and why they are here and we try to make it a little fun while we are doing it too,” said Fox, a certified Child Life Specialist.
The Child Life Center is one of the many departments that heavily rely on people’s donations.
This Thursday you can help add to those donations while enjoying the new 2019 models, a dinner, drinks and some fun at the auto show charity gala.
“it’s a great way for the community to get involved and to give back to valley children’s. Everybody has a story. Almost everybody knows about valley children’s whether it’s through their own experience or through a friend or family,” said Sandy Cetti, Guild Manager for Valley Children’s.
The charity event will be Thursday, November 15th at the Convention Center.
Put together by los Rancheros Guild of Valley Children’s and the Fresno Clovis New Car Dealers Association.
“You get a sneak peek before anybody else. Certainly every manufacture is pushing new product that is more friendly to the client in every way and sinks in a lot of ways with their lifestyle so I think there is a lot to see this year,” said Mike Gibson, with the Fresno Clovis New Car Dealers Association.
You can buy your tickets here and have the satisfaction that your money will help fund three different departments at Valley Children’s, including the Spiritual Care Center, which provides emotional and spiritual support.
“We go around to day surgery to the clinics and ask perceptive questions designed to engage the patients emotions get them to talk about what they are thinking and feeling,” said Dave Shackelford, a Valley Children’s Chaplain.
