18-year-old arrested after DUI crash in Reedley, police say

Reedley police said they got a call of a crash at the intersection of Reed Ave and Seventh St around 3 a.m. Monday morning.

When officers arrived they said the occupants of the car took off from the area. Police said they were able to catch two people, one was later determined to be the driver.

Police said the driver was 18-year-old Bryant Pena of Sanger, the passenger was a female juvenile. The driver sustained minor injuries, and the passenger was uninjured. 

Police said Pena was arrested for DUI resulting in injury, hit and run resulting in injury, child endangerment, resisting arrest, and minor in possession of alcohol. He was later transported to Fresno County Jail.

As a result of the collision, a PG&E power pole with transformers was sheared off causing power lines across the roadway. 

Numerous residents were without power in the early morning hours. PG&E crews worked to replace the pole and restore power to the surrounding area.
