15 People Dead In Japanese Knife Attack

Japanese authorities say 19 people are killed, after a man allegedly went on a rampage at a facility for handicapped people.

According to Japanese national broadcaster NHK, the attack took place at the Tsukui Yamayuri Garden Facility. The facility is located in a city west of Tokyo. In addition to the 19 fatalities, Japanese news consortium Japan News Network is reporting that 25 people were hurt, some seriously.

The suspect has been identified by NHK as Satoshi Uematsu, 26. Uematsu, according to reports, turned himself in to authorities. Uematsu, according to CBS News, reportedly told police that he wanted to “get rid of the disabled from this world.”
