14 Year Old Arrested For Attempted Murder

Porterville police have arrested a 14 year old boy and a 38 year old man for attempted murder.

Police say they found a man lying in the road near a car on Morton Avenue and Indiana street on Saturday. He had been shot. The man was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatning injuries. Police got a description of a suspected vehicle. Officers found it and stopped the driver. 

Detectives say they learned a 14 year old boy lured the victim to the 100 block of East Gibson Avenue after an earlier confrontation. Police say 38 year old Santos Moreno, who knew the 14 year old, shot the man. Police tell us Moreno is a convicted felon and was positively identified as the suspect who shot the victim. Detectives searched Moreno’s home and say they found a gun believed to be used in the shooting.

Police arrested Moreno .He’s in jail and being held on $500,000 bail. Police say the 14 year old is in Juvenile Hall and is being held without bail
