100,000 pounds of chicken recalled due to misbranding

A food company in Texas is recalling nearly 100-thousand pounds of frozen chicken meals in steam bags because the labels do not disclose they contain eggs, a potential allergen.

The U.S. department of agriculture announced the recall. Vics Acquisition is recalling the following:

The happi foodi bloody mary inspired chicken, southeast grocers brand marsala chicken and southeast grocers brand mediterranean herb chicken.

The happi foodi items were shipped across the U.S. and the southeast grocers items were shipped to southern states.

People who bought them are warning against eating them — and are asked to throw them out or return them to the stores they bought them at.

The u-s-d-a says they don’t know of anyone getting sick.

A company that helped Vics Acquisition pack the products noticed the label oversight.
