This week we are highlighting Ashley Pizano as our Healthcare Hero.
Ashley is the the supervisor of the outpatient lab services at Community Regional Medical Center. She started out as a lab assistant at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital, and worked her way up to a leadership position. She helps to create structure in the lab, and she motivates her employees to give their best every day.
Ashley described how she felt when she learned she was nominated, “I couldn’t believe it. I just, I feel like I’m doing my job and I love my job. So sometimes, I can go a little, I can push myself a little too hard, and I think that’s where, maybe that’s why I got nominated, but I’m just honored, I really am. It’s a great feeling to be recognized by Community.”
Vanessa Batiste worked with Ashley at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital. Vanessa took over as the laboratory team lead there after Ashley.
“She encourages everybody to push themselves to be the best, and she has a power to create great teamwork,” said Vanessa.
Twilla Maldonado is the laboratory manager at Community Regional Medical Center. She talked about Ashley’s great leadership, and said, “She is a servant leader in that, she doesn’t just help people, you need to draw this or say this or do it this way. She actually gets in there and helps them.”
The laboratories at Community Medical Centers bring together state of the art technologies and highly trained lab personnel to provide testing and collections in a timely and accurate manner.
