WASHINGTON (WHTM) – Del Monte Foods is recalling more than 64,000 cans of fiesta corn sold in California and 24 other states because it may have been under-processed during sterilization.
The Food and Drug Administration says Del Monte fiesta corn seasoned with red and green peppers could become contaminated by spoilage organisms or pathogens, which could lead to life-threatening illness if eaten.
No illnesses have been reported.
People should return the recalled corn to the store for a full refund or exchange.
The recalled products are 15.25-ounce cans with the UPC number 24000 02770 on the label. The corn will also have one of the following “best if used by” dates stamped on the bottom:

- August 15, 2021
- August 16, 2021
- Sept 3, 2021
- Sept 4, 2021
- Sept 5, 2021
- Sept 6, 2021
- Sept 22, 2021
- Sept 23, 2021
