A new facility coming to Kern County is expected to bring nearly 1,500 jobs.
Construction is already underway for the Amazon Fulfillment Center, a 2 million square foot building located near Meadows Airport, according to Ryan Alsop, Kern County Administrative Officer.

The center is expected to bring 1,000 to 1,500 jobs, Alsop said.
Supervisors are expected to bring up the new facility at Tuesday’s meeting.
There was no word on when the facility will begin hiring.
A fulfillment center picks, packs and ships products ordered online, according to Amazon’s website.
