FRESNO, Calif. (KGPE) – Fresno County farmers will only receive 5% of requested initial 2023 water supplies from the State Water Project, according to The California Department of Water Resources.

The State Water Project provides water to 29 public water agencies and serves 27-million people throughout California.

Water managers will reassess conditions monthly throughout the winter and spring.

Initial federal water allocations are typically made in February.
