Fourth graders at an elementary school in Sanger are sad when it’s time to go home.
That’s how much they enjoy learning from Mrs. Strange at Fairmont Elementary.
A sweet surprise followed by a round of applause from dozens of students, Mrs. Strange was brought to tears when learning of her nomination.
“It’s just very humbling because it’s what I love, teaching,” says Lee Strange, a fourth grade teacher in the Sanger Unified School District at Fairmont Elementary.
For more than ten years, she’s taught elementary school, and now she’s added on an after school broadcasting program.
The fourth grade teacher impacts students more than she knows.
Damariz Salinas, the seventh grader who nominated her, says, “I don’t want to go home because school is amazing.”
She says she was inspired by the teacher even though she wasn’t in her class.
She says, “Mrs. Strange is an amazing, kind person who loves to teach all. She loves to teach kids and I love being able to come here and learn from her.”
