Kirsten Mitchell

Kirsten Mitchell joined the KSEE24 and CBS47 team in April 2019 and serves as the Weekend Anchor for CBS47. She also reports three days a week.

She was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota and is loving the Central Valley heat!

Prior to her position in Fresno, she was a Multimedia Journalist in Panama City, Florida. While there, she covered Hurricane Michael. From storm preparations to the moment the Category 5 storm made landfall, she provided the community with critical lifesaving information in the disaster zone.

She was the winner of the 2018 Florida Associated Press Broadcasters Association awards for best overall Multimedia Journalist and best General Assignment story in the small market category for her work covering Hurricane Michael.

Kirsten graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. During college, she interned at WCCO and KARE in Minneapolis and also spent a summer interning at WMAQ, the NBC Owned station in Chicago.

In her free time, she can be found exploring California, running, or trying new restaurants around town.
