
CBS 47 Anchor Brian Dorman is the co-anchor of Eyewitness News with Kathryn Herr. Brian co-anchors the 5p.m., 6p.m., 7p.m. and 11p.m. newscasts and brings years of experience to the news desk.
Brian joined CBS 47 from the CBS affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma (KOTV) where he served as an evening anchor.
Brian’s anchoring career began in Alpena, Michigan and continued in Topeka, Kansas; Joplin, Missouri; South Bend, Indiana; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Brian’s anchoring and investigative reporting have earned him two Emmy Awards, three Emmy nominations, five Edward R. Murrow Awards, and four broadcasters awards spanning from Kansas, Indiana, and Oklahoma.
Brian has covered everything from Presidential visits, mass shootings, elections, severe weather, and college sports championship games.
He has a proven track record of impactful investigative stories that started early in his career. Brian’s first broadcaster’s award came in Topeka, Kansas with an exclusive investigative piece on horse slaughter. Brian is also passionate about school bullying awareness, youth suicide prevention, and supporting youth in the LGBTQ community. His work in these categories has also earned him several awards.
Brian was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit. He earned a B.A. in Communication from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
