Westside Communities: "Fruit Basket to Dust Bowl"

Drought conditions are affecting the westside of Fresno County especially hard. It's lead to poverty, school closures and the disappearance of small businesses, a member of Water for Land Committee told Sunrise's Carina Corral.
Drought conditions are affecting the entire state, but the westside of Fresno County is being hit especially hard.

Farmers and farm worker advocates will be at the state capitol this Thursday lobbying for the governor to declare a drought in an effort to divert water to the Central Valley.

One of the organizations that will be in Sacramento is Water for Land Committee. Member Javier Guzman told KSEE24 Sunrise's Carina Corral of the dire situation the drought has lead to in Fresno County's westside communities, such as poverty, school closures and the disappearance of small businesses.
