Stop Hunger Campaign

Clovis church works to feed the hungry.
In honor of its 120th anniversary the Memorial United Methodist Church of Clovis rallied to pack 120,000 meals for the hungry.

It's all part of the Stop Hunger Campaign.

The organization sends items like vitamins and dehydrated vegetables to children in under developed countries.
Hundreds of community members put their hair nets and gloves on to join the fight on Sunday.
One pastor says it's the best way to celebrate another year of service for Clovis' oldest running church.

"It reaffirms what I always believe that people want to make the world a better place and people want their lives to contribute in a positive way and when we put the word out there people just want to come and they're so excited," said senior Pastor Janette Saavedra.

Organizers with Stop Hunger say yesterday's event was the largest meal packing event ever in northern California.
