It's going to be a frightful next couple of days in the valley! The last weekend before Halloween is sure to scare up some fun. Here's a handful of scary-- mixed in with some not so scary -- events to do this weekend in your High Five report:
-Haunted Fresno is your place for thrills and chills in downtown Fresno. There are six different attractions for your nightmarish delight. From the ellevator to a seance, come ready to scream. Haunted Fresno is located at 665 Fulton Street. It will be open Friday and Saturday from 7-midnight and Sunday and Halloween from 7pm-11pm.
-It's considered one of the top ten scariest haunts in the country and it's right in our own back yard. Hobbs Grove is living up to its reputation with a haunted forest, house and hayride. It's so scary in fact Hobbs Grove is listed as one of the top 10 haunts to see, according to Forbes.com. It runs through November 2, but closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
-If you're looking for something a little less scary, check out the Pumpkin King Pumpkin Patch. On Saturday there will be a kids safety event that includes police officers, firefighters and martial arts classes. There will also be I.D. kits available, a bounce house, pony rides and more. It's located at northwest corner of Blackstone and Shaw. It starts at 1pm.
-That's for kids--this events for pets. The Tower District is hosting the 7th Annual Whitie's Pets Pooch Parade, Canine Carnival & Costume Contest. It's taking place Saturday behind the Tower Theatre from 1-5pm. Proceeds benefit Tower District Projects and spay/neuter programs.
-Chaffee Zoo and its animals are getting into the halloween spirit. It's the last weekend of Zoo Boo. There will be trick-or-treating, carnival games, and hay maze. It's Friday and Saturday from 5-8pm. The annual Stomp 'n' Chomp will be held on Saturday when some of the animals will feast on pumpkins, which is designed to stimulate natural behaviors. There will be feedings at various exhibits every half hour from 10-to 2:30pm.
