Fresno County United Way Recipient of PG&E Grant

Will share a $30,000 award with the United Way of Stanislaus County.
**PRESS RELEASE** The United Way of Fresno and Stanislaus County are the proud recipients of $30,000 in shared funding from Pacific Gas &Electric (PG&E). This money is designated for the 2-1-1 Central Valley Call Center.

2-1-1 is the phone number people call when they need confidential referrals to anything from home loan modification to employment resources to finding shelter from the cold.

$25,000 of the $30,000 grant is designated for Fresno County with the additional $5,000 going to Stanislaus.

“We are extremely thankful that PG&E understands how important 2-1-1 is to our community,” said R. Michael Alexander, United Way of Fresno County President and CEO, “2-1-1 is the number you call when you have nowhere else to call.”

Ezra Garrett, PG&E Vice President of Community Relations will be presenting the $30,000 check to United Way of Fresno County on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 10:30am in the United Way of Fresno County’s Community Boardroom. The address is 4949 E. Kings Canyon Rd. Fresno, CA 93727

The United Way of Fresno County focuses making lasting and permanent change, not just give out charity in the areas of income, education and health.
