There is a huge need for teachers in the South Valley. Some call it a shortage, others call it opportunity. According to the Tulare County Office of Education, 2/3 of the county's teachers are at retirement age but there aren't enough qualified people to replace them. Golden West High School will be losing several key teachers this year. Some have been with the school since it opened. The principal says filling those shoes will be extremely difficult. The Office of Education is a hoping a job fair will help. It'll be at the Visalia Convention Center on March 29th and applicants are being urged to register by the 16th. Organizers say there will be 24 school districts involved with at least 100 openings and people could get hired on the spot.
