Thousands are heading back to the classroom this week and bidding farewell to summer.
"It's always great to have students on campus, just brings a certain vibrancy to campus we don't have during the summer," says Fresno City College President Tony Cantu.
Fresno City College is celebrating the end of years of budget woes. They tell us they had to start cutting classes in 2008 because of the recession. Now they've been able to add those classes back.
"We're looking forward to a really great year," Cantu says.
The college has 21,000 students enrolled. College of the Sequoias, Tulare High and several other Tulare schools plus Madera Unified Schools also started on August 11.
Fresno Unified and Fresno State start next week.
