The primary race for the 16th Congressional District held a big field with six candidates, including long-time incumbent Jim Costa.
Congressman Costa was the top vote-getter with, at last count, 44% of the vote. He'll face Republican Johnny Tacherra, a Valley dairyman, in the November election.
Congressman Costa was on Sunrise post-Election Day to address issues in his district and beyond, such as water rights and the Veterans Affairs scandal.
Costa He also talked about his challenger's vow to repeal the Affordable Care Act should he be elected.
We also extended an invitation to Tacherra.
