Parkwood Water Safe for Consumption

The County of Madera announced Thursday the water flow to the Parkwood area of Madera County is safe for drinking.
Press Release:

The County of Madera today announced water flow to the Parkwood area of Madera County is safe for drinking.

In conjunction with the California Department of Public Health, and Madera County Environmental Health, it has been determined that, through abatement of the health hazard and comprehensive testing of the water, your water is safe to drink. It is no longer necessary to boil your tap water or for you to consume bottled water.

Water samples were submitted for testing yesterday -- a necessary step whenever water flow is restored following any kind of water disruption.

In light of our County’s current drought situation, Johannes J. Hoevertsz, Public Works Director, says construction of a water intertie to the City of Madera’s water system (to provide an additional source of water temporarily to this area of Madera County) is set to begin tomorrow. That project is expected to take up to a week. Parkwood will remain on stage four conservation measures.
