NorCal subdivision sliding down hill

Eight families have had to abandon their homes in Lake County and four more are being threatened.
A group of homeowners in Lake County are worried about the future of their community.

The land around their hilltop development is eroding.

So far, eight families have been forced to abandon their homes and four more houses are being threatened.

To make matters worse, insurance companies say losses due to shifting soil are not covered.

No one is sure what's causing the slide but it could be geothermal activity or damaged sewer or water lines.

Residents are hoping the county can help them figure out what to do next.
