Large Marijuana Grow Uncovered in Mariposa

The grow is believed to belong to Mexican drug trafficking organizations.

Wilderness Marijuana Eradicated

Late Friday afternoon, April 25, 2014 Deputies from the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office, following up
on a tip of a large marijuana grow in the Crown Lead Road area of Coulterville, located and eradicated
11,216 plants. This grow is believed to belong to Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO) that
has been operating in the area for some time.

The total for all marijuana eradication operations completed on Friday April 25th is 28,070 plants.

Pre-season activity is indicating a challenging wilderness marijuana season this year. The Sheriff’s Office
is requesting those who see suspicious activity, including food and gardening supplies, irrigation hose,
and digging activity in rural and wilderness areas to not approach but rather report the observations to law
