Suspect Admits to Arson

A suspect has been booked on suspicion of starting fires in downtown Fresno, including torching the police chief's car.

Fresno police have arrested a man accused of starting several fires in the downtown area, including one that destroyed the patrol car of Police Chief Jerry Dyer last weekend. Officers have identified 39- year-old Efrain Mendoza through surveillance video taken from the scene. Detectives located Mendoza in the area of Fresno and B Street on Monday.
