South Valley authorities are continuing efforts to raise awareness about human trafficking.
A public forum was held in Visalia Monday night.
Human trafficking forces adults and children into a life of prostitution or manual labor.
It's become an increasingly profitable business for gangs second only to drug dealing.
Authorities say California is one of the top three states where this type of criminal activity occurs.
The community is encouraged to report any unusual behavior that could indicate human trafficking.
