Plenty to do this warm weekend from having a meal with superheroes to a challenging obstacle course and songs from under the sea. It's all wrapped up for you in this week's High Five.
-Kids, here's your chance to have breakfast with your favorite superhero. Island Waterpark is hosting the event to kick-start a day to celebrate local heroes. Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Ironman, and Captain America will team up with firefighters, law enforcements officers and military members. The event is Saturday from 8:00 am - 10:30 am. Tickets are $20.
-After hanging with superheroes channel your inner ninja. Skywalk Fresno is hosting a ninja warrior tournament. It's ninja course of obstacles, walls and cliffhangers will have you feeling like a ninja warrior. The tournament is Sunday. Ages 12 and under compete at 2pm; 13-17 compete at 4pm; and 18 and older at 6pm for $500 in cash prizes.
-Children's Musical Theaterworks presents Disney's "The Little Mermaid, Junior." Watch as performers ranging from age 13 to 18 take audiences on a journey to Ariel's magic underwater kingdom. It runs through Sunday at the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium in Fresno. Tickets for kids under 12 are $10.
-Your Fresno Grizzlies are in town playing at Chukchansi Park this weekend. Tonight watch the fireworks show after the team takes on the Oklahoma City Redhawks. Saturday and Sunday they take on the Colorado Springs Sky Socks. Saturday is Pablo Sandoval Farm Grown Bobblehead Night, as well.
-This event is for the children, but sorry no kids allowed. Storyland and Jazz in Roeding Park is Saturday evening. The Cultural Arts Rotary Club of Fresno holds this annual fundraiser that benefits youth arts programs for under-served children. The evening includes food tasting from local restaurants, no-host bar, silent auction, and live jazz performances. It starts at 6pm. Tickets are $50.
