Gas Line Rupture Forces Evacuations in Dinuba

Dozens of homes, an apartment complex and some businesses have been evacuated after a gas main rupture in Dinuba.
Evacuations have been ordered for over fifty homes, some businesses and an apartment complex in Dinuba after a gas line rupture.

It happened around one this afternoon on El Monte Way near Monte Vista Drive.

According to the Dinuba Fire Department a piece of construction equipment ruptured the line during roadwork.

Evacuations were immediately ordered as a safety precaution.

The gas company has been working to shut off the flow of gas. At last check it was estimated that the gas would not be shut off until 10 p.m.

In the meantime, the Red Cross is providing shelter for those affected by the evacuations.

No injuries have been reported.
