French Fire Forces Evacuations, Road Closures in Madera County

Crews continue to battle a wildfire in Madera County that has grown to over 1,000 acres and forced evacuations and several road closures.
The French Fire continues to burn near the San Joaquin River Drainage, in Madera County forcing several road closures and evacuation of residents.

At last check, it has scorched over 1,000 acres and forced evacuations at both Fish Creek and Rock Creek Campground. A pre-evacuation notice has been issued for the Kinsman Flat area as well. Residents in that area should be packed and ready to evacuate at a moments notice.

Mammoth Pool road is closed and residents are being asked to use Beasore Road to Grizzly Road as a detour route.
