Forum teaches youth how to cope when times are tough

Are you ok?...You matter! Two simple phrases that organizers from Fresno Suicide Survivors are hoping could help to prevent suicide in Fresno.
A local group is working to prevent suicide.

Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOS) teaches the youth how to cope with their issues when times are tough.

Giving them the tools to make a difference in their own life and the life of someone they know.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death for the 15 to 24 age group.

"We want people to know its ok to ask for help. There are bumps in the road in life. Things are going to happen but we want to make sure people have the appropriate resources for help," said Leann Gouveia, Executive Director, Fresno SOS.

Organizers are also starting a youth council to help spread the word and make an impact.
