A female driver has been arrested and charged with DUI causing a death, possesion of methamphetamine, and vehicular manslaughter. Police say she caused a multi-car accident that left one man dead.

Fresno Police say 45-year-old Roberta Soto was speeding while driving a stolen Kia SUV and ran a red light heading North on Fresno Street. They say she hit a Mazda sedan in the intersection and the impact from the crash pushed them into three other cars stopped at the light. The driver of the Mazda, 26-year-old Matthew Harkenrider, died at the scene.

Phu Hau, the driver of one of the trucks hit tells us he watched the SUV roll over the top of his truck hood. He quickly ran to Harkenrider but says it was too late.

"I could tell right away he's gone, there's no helping him," Hau said

Hau and 5 other people were treated at the scene for minor to moderate injuries.

We've learned Harkenrider worked at Community Regional Medical Center. The hospital put out this statement about his death.

"It is with a great sadness we announce the loss of Matthew Harkenrider, a cherished Community Family member in a tragic car accident earlier today.
Matthew was a radiology technician in the Radiology Department at Community Regional Medical Center and well-loved among his coworkers. Before earning his certification as a rad-tech, Matthew worked in the hospital as a radiology transporter. Those who worked closely with him said he was known for his great work ethic, personality and wonderful sense of humor.
Matthew’s coworkers said everyone in Radiology wanted him to be part of their team.  Matthew was one of those rare individuals with the potential to be successful at anything he desired.  His focus was on his family and friends – including his Community work family.
With heavy hearts we offer condolences to his family. Matthew was loved and respected by everyone who worked with him and he will be terribly missed by all. "

Police say Soto who allegedly caused the crash was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition and had surgery for broken bones. Police say a nurse discovered Soto was clutching a container of meth while they were trying to treat her. She is in stable condition and will be booked and charged in Harkenrider's death once she's released.

Police are still trying to learn more about the stolen car they say Soto was driving.
