The Fresno chapter of Fathers Against Drunk Driving, or FADD, has thrown its support behind a new breathalyzer app.

Chapter Director Michael Chaffey was on Sunrise demonstrating how it works and to tell us more about it.

The "Breathometer" transforms any smartphone into a breathalyzer within seconds. Breathometer plugs into a smartphone audio jack and together with a mobile app, transforms it into a portable breathalyzer measuring blood alcohol concentration (BAC).

It's available through the FADD website, click here, for $49.95.

There is also a fundraising effort underway to get the FADD Youth Summer Outreach program to Fresno County. FADD is looking for donations and sponsors to bring the program to Fresno County youth to teach them underage drinking prevention and awareness and provide them with educational materials.

Contact Robert at (559) 756-1748 or faddintl@gmail.com if you'd like to help.

Watch the video for the Breathometer demonstration.
