Eyewitness News Investigates: Real Estate Contracts

Another reminder to read the fine print of any contract you sign, after a Fresno woman finds out she may owe $30,000 to a realtor who *didn't* sell her house.
A Fresno woman may have to pay $30,000 in commission to her real estate agent - after changing her mind about selling her house.

In March, Martha Claro signed a contract with a realtor with London Properties. Martha claims she didn't know what she was signing. But the contract clearly states that if the contract is breached, the 6% commission is still owed. In this case, the paperwork says that if a buyer receives a bid for the full purchase price and refuses it, then the realtor can collect the fee.
