Tom Cemo has spent a good part of his life helping his students learn to create
Each week KSEE 24 honor's a teacher who's making a difference in children's lives. This week, Lindsey Pena introduces us to the south valley man who's our Educator of the Week.

Tom Cemo has spent a good part of his life helping his students learn to create. He calls these works garden art and says they've worked wonders teaching these young people some important life skills.

"They learn to be employed, learn to be responsible, just like us," says Cemo.

Cemo's class here at Porterville College is for special students. Ones that may need a little extra attention. He says the work he puts in though is nothing compared to the reward and he calls himself lucky.

These are some of the last students to call Mr. Cemo their teacher. After more than four decades of being in education, he's retiring. He says he can't quite believe all this will soon come to an end.

"These students have made my career for 42 years, feel like I just started, I want to know where the 42 years went."
