The State's Plan to Restructure Priority Registration

New ways to increase student success rates.
The Community College Board of Governors met Monday at the State Capitol.
They discussed new ways to increase student success rates.
One way to help students meet their academic goals is to restructure priority enrollment.
In the past priority enrollment was given to students with the most units.
The new regulations will give priority to students who have less than one hundred units.
"Well this fall we are implementing priority registration which means that students that take an orientation and an assessment um and uh do things to become prepared will get priority when they go to enroll for classes." said Pail Feist, Vice Chancellor of Communications.
The board also decided to offer priority enrollment for low income students and disabled students.
the schools already give enrollment priority to foster youth.
