Stolen Trailer and Drugs Found During Check Fraud Investigation

During a recent investigation detectives located check and counterfeit currency making material, a stolen trailer and heroin.

On June 17, 2014, at 1100 A.M. Property Crimes Detectives arrested S/Shannon Sorrells at the Tulare County Courthouse on suspicion of check fraud. The check fraud investigation resulted in the service of a search warrant at S/Sorrells' residence and storage unit located at 401 W. Paradise Ave.
During the service of the search warrant, detectives located check and counterfeit currency making material, a stolen trailer and heroin. Detectives also located several damaged United States Postal Service community mailboxes which had been stolen in Visalia during the months of May and June. A large amount of stolen mail was also recovered inside the suspect's residence, storage unit and vehicle.
Investigators from the U.S. Postal Service and the U.S. Secret Service were contacted and will be conducting investigations into the mail/mailbox thefts and counterfeiting.
S/Sorrells was booked into the Tulare County Jail on charges of check fraud, ID theft, commercial burglary, forgery, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of counterfeit currency.
