Splashing, barbeques sizzling and shopping is how people in the valley are spending Labor Day and the end of summer.
The Cliftons are cooling off at Island Waterpark. "There's a bunch of rides, it's watery and it's really fun here."
One father says the waterpark is a great place to go to beat the heat and have a great time. "It's late in the year it's still hot, it's sunny it's great cool off and great place to go."
What's a holiday without a cookout? Many valley residents headed to The Meat Market in Clovis to pick up their holiday meal.
"Just came to get some food on Labor day, came to get some lunch," said Jason Bogard.
The meat is ordered and ready for the grill. We visited Woodward Park to see how people are spending the day, it was a day of grilling and playing sports. Again, the heat was not stopping them. "My family got together it's been a while so everyone is off today and chose to come out," said Yvette Villa of Fresno, visited the park for a family barbeque.
"Just getting quality time with the family and friends is always good," said Tina Rodriguez, visited the park for a family barbeque.
Labor Day isn't just another day of shopping. We stopped by River Park Mall, it was crowded, people were looking for deals and going last minute back-to-school shopping.
"Out shopping enjoying the day, and the sales making sure we get all the good deals," said Alexandra Victoria of Fresno, looking for holiday deals.
Here in the valley it looks like all the fun definitely beats the heat.
