Each week, we honor a teacher in the Valley who's making a difference.

Today we visit Sutter Middle School in Fowler for our Educator of the Week.

"She brings science to life by conducting experiment that go along with the lesson," said seventh grader Lauren Tsujioka of her teacher, Ms. Stephanie Salas.

Ms. Salas doesn't have a typical classroom setting and that's what her students love.

"The experiments we do in her class, she makes learning the most fun that I've had in all the years that I've been in school," said another one of her students, Trevor Amarante.

She makes learning fun, but most of all she teaches them  a never give up attitude whether it be in class...

"I really want to be a geologist and she encourages me. Last year with earth science she helped me not be afraid of experiments," said Tsujioka.

extracurricular activities...

"I did science fair. I didn't make it to state, but she supported me and I'm doing another one next year," said Amarante.

or in their future aspirations.

"They're so ready to be guided and the ability to push them in different directions. I always tell them it's not if, but when you go to college," said Ms. Salas.

In fact, she even has past students contact her letting Ms. Salas know because of her, they made it. "{They say} I never thought I'd be here and someone believed in me and now I have this future that I never thought was possible."

She pushes them past their wildest dreams and expectations.

"Just knowing that everything I do can affect someone for the rest of their lives," said Salas.

And that makes Ms. Salas our Educator of the Week.
