Quarterback Tyrone Williams' fumble in victory formation with 25 seconds left in the first half proved costly, and propeled Clovis North to a 29-10 win at Veterans Memorial Stadium Thursday night.
Williams took a knee, but the ball slipped out of his hands before his knee hit the ground. The Broncos recovered and scored on the very next play, a 33 yard touchdown pass from Austin Autry to Tymon Locklin, who injured his ankle on the play.
The Broncos went up 14-10 at the half and never looked back.
Merced had a 10-0 lead before Clovis North scored 29 unanswered points to improve to 4-1 on the season. Merced falls to 3-2.
