Forum Held for Fresno City Council Candidates

Forum Held for Fresno City Council Candidates

A forum at Fresno City College let candidates for Fresno City Council voice their positions on popular local issues.
A number of candidates for Fresno City Council took part in a forum Saturday afternoon at Fresno City College.

The forum was free and open to the public.

The candidates were asked questions ranging from economics to education.

"We essentially expect to have a single place where all candidates can meet and give their answers on the same questions. Those candidates will go to one group or another and talk to them. Here we want them to talk to all issues at one time," said organizer Yezdyar Kaoosji.

Candidates also voiced their opinions on high-speed rail, local job creation, homelessness and even if they would support opening a Walmart Super Store in their district.

Voting for Fresno City Council is in June.
