Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Mets plan to announce a two-year contract extension for manager Terry Collins on Monday, multiple sources have told MLB.com.

The deal, which will also reportedly include an option for a third season, had yet to be finalized as of Saturday.

Collins' current contract is set to expire at the conclusion of this season. The 64-year-old has amassed a 224-260 record over his three years with the Mets, including a 73-87 mark entering the final two games of the current campaign.

The Mets finished fourth in the NL East in each of Collins' first two seasons and presently own a one-game edge on Philadelphia for third place.

Collins, who had previously served as a manager for the Houston Astros and Anaheim Angels, owns a career 668-694 record over nine seasons.
