Woburn, England (Sports Network) - Colin Montgomerie carded a 2-under 70 on Sunday to cruise to a 6-stroke victory at the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters.
Montgomerie, who was making just his third start on the European Senior Tour, finished the tournament at 10-under-par 206. The 31-time winner on the European Tour collected his first professional win since the 2007 European Open.
"This course has suited me down to the ground for years," said Montgomerie. "I had a couple of great finishes on the (European Tour) -- the Junior Tour, as I now call it -- so it's nice to come back here and finally win."
Paul Wesselingh fired the low round of the day at Woburn Golf Club with a 6- under 66 to jump into a share of second place with Miguel Angel Martin (71) at 4-under 212.
Carl Masson (74) and Ross Drummond (73) tied for fourth at 3-under.
Montgomerie entered the final round with a 3-stroke lead and was never threatened after following a birdie at the first with an eagle at the fifth.
He then opened his back nine with a birdie at the 10th to move to 12-under, and easily cruised to the win despite dropping a pair of shots at the 12th and 15th.
